3. Are the codes printed, displayed on screens, or both?

For QR codes, mobile coupons, digital tickets, and payment-related workflows, choose a 2D imager and test several phone models at different brightness levels. Screen protectors, reflections, dark mode, and low display brightness can all affect real-world performance.

4. What interfaces does the host system support?

Common interfaces include USB HID, USB virtual COM, RS-232, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and TTL or other embedded connections. The physical connector alone does not guarantee compatibility. Confirm the communication mode, voltage, protocol, data format, and driver requirements.

5. How harsh is the environment?

6. How will triggering work?

Handheld scanners commonly use a trigger button, presentation mode, or continuous reading. Define the sequence clearly: when scanning starts, how long it stays active, what happens after a successful read, and how no-read events are handled.

7. What happens when a barcode cannot be read?
